The Corpus Iuris Hibernici, cited as CIH, is a six-volume collection of the sources for the study of early Irish law, also known as Brehon law, edited by D. A. Binchy. It presents transcriptions of the relevant manuscripts in Old Irish and Latin. It was intended as a replacement for the Ancient Laws of Ireland, a series published between 1865 and 1901 that relied on more limited sources and suffered from unreliable editorial work. Though highly rated for its editing, it was criticised for having no translations, no explanatory notes and few cross-references, a gap later addressed by Fergus Kelly's Guide to early Irish law and Liam Breatnach's Companion to the Corpus iuris hibernici. Breatnach identified 102 individual texts within it.
