Arvid Gustavsson, Lord of Vik

Arvid Gustavsson, who died around 1379 or 1380, was a medieval Swedish nobleman who served as justiciar of Finland and as lawspeaker. His principal seat was the manor of Vik in Balingsta, Uppland. He became a member of the Privy Council of Sweden in 1362 and served as lawspeaker of Finland, then a Swedish province, from 1366. His father was Gustav Arvidsson, a knight and Privy Council member whose own seat was probably already Vik. Arvid married Helena Magnusdotter, daughter of Magnus Gislason, Lord of Aspnas, and their surviving daughter Margareta Arvidsdotter, who died in 1415, married Ture Bengtsson and became heiress to substantial Uppland properties that eventually passed to descendants including the House of Vasa and King Gustav I of Sweden.
