Erik Trolle, also called Erik Arvidsson, was a Swedish nobleman and jurist who lived from about 1460 until 1529 or 1530. He served as Justiciar of Narke and as a Lord High Councillor of Sweden from 1487, and studied at the University of Rostock and the University of Cologne; he held positions as canon in Uppsala and Linkoping without being ordained. In 1512, during the era of the Kalmar Union, he was elected regent of Sweden following the death of Svante Nilsson, but he never actually took up the position, being superseded by Svante's son Sten Sture the Younger. His own son, Gustav Trolle, later became Archbishop of Uppsala.
