Why does the United Nations list Abdullah El-Erian's country under three names?
The list records the changing official name of his state, from Egypt to the United Arab Republic to the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The United Nations list of present and former members of the International Law Commission gives the country of Abdullah El-Erian as Egypt, United Arab Republic and Arab Republic of Egypt, with membership in 1957 to 1958 and again in 1962 to 1978.
