Eduardo Vio Grossi (1944-2022) was a Chilean lawyer and judge who served on the Inter-American Court of Human Rights from 2010 to 2021. Born in Valparaiso, he trained at the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaiso and Pierre Mendes-France University before combining an academic career at his alma mater with more than a decade on the regional human rights court, ruling on cases brought against Latin American states under the American Convention on Human Rights.
