Hsu Mo, born October 22, 1893, in Suzhou, China, and who died June 28, 1956, in The Hague, was a Chinese diplomat and jurist who served as deputy foreign minister of China and as ambassador to Australia and to Turkey between 1931 and 1947. He took part in drafting the statute of the International Court of Justice through the United Nations Committee of Jurists in April 1945, and was elected a judge of the court the following year, serving from 1946 until his death in 1956. He was succeeded on the court by fellow Chinese jurist Wellington Koo.
