David Joseph Attard is a Maltese jurist and academic who has served as a judge of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea since 2011, serving as Vice-President from 2017 to 2020 and as President of the Seabed Disputes Chamber since 2023. He was for thirty years director of the International Maritime Law Institute at the University of Malta, where he later became Chancellor. He holds a doctorate in law from the University of Oxford.
