Ivana Jelic is a Montenegrin jurist born on 17 March 1975 in Podgorica. She was a professor of public international law and human rights at the University of Montenegro before her judicial career, and served as a member of the Advisory Committee on the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities from 2012 to 2016 and as a member of the United Nations Human Rights Committee from 2015 to 2018, holding that committee's vice-presidency from 2017 to 2018. She was elected Montenegro's judge at the European Court of Human Rights in July 2018 for a term running to 2027, and has served as President of her Section since July 2024 and as a Vice-President of the Court since 1 November 2024.
