Supreme Court of Justice of Guatemala

National Supreme Courts (Last Resort)

The Supreme Court of Justice of Guatemala is, with the other tribunals the law establishes, the body that exercises the jurisdictional function with absolute exclusivity under the 1993 Constitution. Its magistrates take an oath before the Congress of the Republic to apply prompt and impartial justice, and the court appoints the judges, secretaries and auxiliary personnel of the lower courts. Its president also heads the Judicial Organ: Oscar Ruperto Cruz Oliva was elected to that office and took possession in the great hall of the court in Guatemala City on 27 November 2023, for the 2023 to 2024 period.
