Cure or quit

Contract and Property Doctrine

In landlord and tenant law, a notice to cure or quit is issued by a landlord when a tenant performs actions in violation of a lease. The notice gives the tenant the option of either fixing the offending problem or vacating the rental property. If the tenant continues performing the action or actions and does not move out, the tenant can be evicted. The notice is therefore a step that gives a tenant a chance to correct a breach of the lease before the landlord proceeds to eviction. The source article is brief, so this entry restates the lead section and does not describe the notice periods or formalities that vary between jurisdictions.

Entity-backed identity for the doctrine category value this doctrine already carries as an enum fact, resolved to a doctrine entity by an explicit value-to-entity map (phase 3 bucket conversion, docs\design_entity_backed_browse_buckets_20260928.md). The enum fact itself stays on the entity unchanged.
