Judicial Yuan

The Judicial Yuan is the judicial branch of the Republic of China, which formerly governed mainland China and today administers Taiwan. It functions as the nation's constitutional court, interpreting the constitution, and it oversees the ordinary courts, including the Supreme Court, high courts and district courts, as well as special courts such as the administrative and disciplinary courts. Established in 1947 and based in Taipei, it operates through a body of justices appointed by the president with the approval of the Legislative Yuan.
