Constitutional court

A constitutional court is a high court that deals primarily with constitutional law, its central task being to rule on whether a challenged law is in fact unconstitutional, meaning that it conflicts with constitutionally established rules, rights, and freedoms, among other requirements. In this role a constitutional court acts as a guardian of constitutional integrity, checking that legislation and government action remain within the bounds the constitution sets.
