Sir Roger Brabazon (c. 1247 to 13 or 14 June 1317) was an English judge who served as Chief Justice of the King's Bench from 1295 to 1316. Born around 1247, probably in Mowsley, Leicestershire, he was knighted in 1268 and entered the service of Edmund of Lancaster in 1275, becoming a junior justice on the King's Bench in 1290 after Ralph de Hengham's dismissal. He took part in the 1291 to 1292 Great Cause over the succession to the Scottish crown, pronouncing the judgment in favor of John Balliol on Edward I's behalf, and was appointed Chief Justice of the King's Bench in 1295 after Gilbert de Thornton's death. He married Beatrice, daughter of Warin of Bassingbourn, accumulated extensive lands in Leicestershire, and died in 1317 without children, leaving his brother Matthew as heir. He was buried at St Paul's Cathedral in London. This description is adapted from Wikipedia contributors under CC BY-SA 4.0; changes were made. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/
