International Energy Conservation Code

The International Energy Conservation Code is a model building code published by the International Code Council, first issued in 2000, that sets minimum design and construction requirements for energy efficiency in buildings. It defines climate zones used to tailor these requirements to different regions and is revised on a three year cycle. Many United States states and municipalities adopt it, often with amendments, as the basis of their own energy code for new construction.
