National Building Code of Canada

The National Building Code of Canada is a model building code issued by the National Research Council of Canada, first published in 1941, covering health, safety, accessibility and the protection of buildings from fire and structural damage for new construction, demolition, renovation and changes of building use. As a model code it carries no legal force of its own; it becomes binding only once a Canadian province, territory or municipality formally adopts it into its own construction regulations.
