Florida Building Code

The Florida Building Code is the set of construction standards for buildings in the US state of Florida, developed by the Florida Building Commission and based on the International Building Code. It places particular emphasis on hurricane resistant construction, following Miami-Dade County's earlier adoption of the first hurricane resistant certification standards in Florida, which the statewide code later enacted, and its 2010 edition introduced significant changes to wind load design requirements.
