Eurocodes

The Eurocodes are ten European standards developed by the European Committee for Standardization at the request of the European Commission to harmonize structural design rules across the European Union, covering concrete, steel, composite, timber, masonry and aluminum construction as well as geotechnical and earthquake-resistant design. First developed from 1975 and published through the 1980s, they became mandatory for European public works specifications by March 2010 and are intended to eventually replace the individual national building codes of EU member states.
